which are so important to any successful production. So if you’re thinking of joining with a non-acting friend there will almost certainly be a role for them to play as a valued member of the society.

Any Questions

How many productions are there each year?
Currently three. Usually January, June and October.

How frequent are rehearsals?
Each rehearsal period is about eight to ten weeks and has two weekday evening rehearsals per week with three or four Sunday afternoon rehearsals usually in the second half of the period. During show week cast and crew members are called every night.

How much variety is there? Is there a theme to this society?
There is a lot of variety with everything from classic plays, comedies, musicals and Shakespearean players.

Is it a closed shop? Are the good parts given to long-standing members preferentially?
Absolutely not! Casting committees are designed to ensure that the best person for the role is offered the role. Decisions are not made according to friendship or longevity. We pride ourselves on quality, opportunity and openness.
